2020 is almost here, but before we go head first into the new year, let’s take a little time to reflect on 2019. That’s right. It’s time for You Go Girl!
In case you are new here let me remind you what this is about. The “You Go Girl” monthly series is for US. I remember thinking that most of us make New Year’s resolutions or promises to ourselves at the beginning of each year and as each month ends, we begin to think we are loosing time if we haven’t accomplished it all so I decided at the end of each month instead of thinking of what we have not accomplished, we should think about all that we have. I share my accomplishments every month and hope you share yours so that we can celebrate each other.
I have decided to share my 2019 highlights to close out the year.
My highlights from 2019:
I tried to get to 2,000 followers all year. Jan. 2019 I was at 1,394. I am now at 2,230.
I’ve been very consistent with IGTV videos and stories. Even going as far as doing try ons. Things I never thought I would do.
Being consistent with blog posts. Not quite weekly, but close.
I pitched a lot and ended up working with some amazing brands. In 2019 I worked with Jessica London, Eloquii, Kervology, Chic Soul, bando, Killer Kurves Shapewear, Loft, Fab Fit Fun and Jayes Studio.
Attended Alt Summit in Palm Springs, CA as a social media volunteer.
I was featured in Eloquii’s catalog.
I was featured in my first National Campaign with Jessica London.
Attended a few blog type conferences. Phat Girl Fresh, The Curvy Fashionista Expo,Curvy Con and Curvy Noire.
I did a six-week workout/weight loss challenge and I won. I have definitely fallen off working out, but that was a big accomplishment for me. Not only was I consistent, but I won. Big deal for me.
Did some updates to my house and the main one was creating a space for blogging, videos and try ons. Hopefully you have caught a glimpse of it. I love it.
Featured in Instyle Magazine as one of the Best Dressed-Plus Size Women during NYFW.
I had watched other bloggers for years share amazing holiday content and always wanted to do that and this year I was finally able to. I loved my holiday content. Pics, post, blogs and videos. I hope you all enjoyed it too.
Last but not least I got a promotion at my full-time job. The one that pays the bills.
Those are my highlights for 2019. I have no complaints for 2019. 2019 was a pretty good year. I have grown so much this year, especially in blogging. I am still not where I want to be but I am not where I use to be. I’m excited to see what 2020 has in store.
Let’s celebrate you now. Share your highlights from 2019 and don’t forget nothing is to small. I know y’all have been out there being great and I can’t wait to celebrate you.
Happy New Year and I hope you will continue to follow me in 2020!
