I’ve always loved Christmas. I love the decorations, the movies, the food and of course the gifts. As a kid, I remember going through catalogs and dog earring many pages so my parents also known as Santa would know what to bring me. If you don’t know how old I am, I just showed my age by referring to a catalog. LOL!
I remember being so excited when the catalogs came in to pick out all I wanted and do know it was always a lot. But shout out to my parents for always coming through. Some of my favorite gifts were my Cabbage Patch Dolls. I had a few. My Barbie Doll House, My She-Ra crew and house, my bike (I got two; one was stolen the day after Christmas) and my parents figured out a way to get me another one because please believe the waterworks were on 1000. LOL! I could keep going, but you get the point. My Christmas was always lit. Are people still saying that?
Another thing I LOVED about Christmas was getting new pjs. We got new pjs every year and it was the BEST thing ever. It’s probably why I love pjs so much now and I still believe in having new pjs every Christmas. And I am particular about them. I’ve had my new Christmas pjs for over a month because last year I waited until the last-minute and I’m still mad of the pjs I had last year. But I digress.
Now, as an adult…I love Christmas more not for the physical gifts (but I still love gifts) but for family time. Until a few years ago, my parents house was the house for Thanksgiving and so I always felt like I was missing out on time with my parents so I couldn’t wait till Christmas to have my parents to myself. #brat
I can’t remember how many years it has been but somehow my dad and I started the movie game and basically each of us choose a movie and who ever movie is the best gets bragging rights for the year. It may sound simple, but we take it very seriously and I look forward to it all year.
I also have matching pjs with my parents and I love picking them out for us. And they just wear them. #supersingle
I’m super excited about this year because they are spending Christmas at my house and I have decorated so it’s going to be great.
So as a kid and as an adult Christmas is/has always been my favorite holiday and I’m pretty sure it will always be.
Now share with me one of your favorite Christmas memories or traditions in the comments!
Happy Holidays,
CC
